What to expect from the finish
Because each bronze is made directly from your own wax, every result is completely individual. Small marks, textures, and the overall character of the sculpt are preserved in the final piece.
Aftercare
Every Sculpt & Send bronze is finished by hand at The Lost Foundry and protected with a wax coating to help care for the surface.
Over time, bronze naturally develops character and may continue to change slightly as the surface settles. This is part of what makes bronze such a beautiful material and gives each piece its own depth and presence.
Because every sculpture is handmade and cast from an original wax model, finished bronzes can vary slightly from photos, even when the starting idea is similar. These small differences are part of the individuality of each piece.
Ideas you can borrow
Some people keep it simple and focus on bold shapes and forms. Others build texture and detail, using fingerprints, tool marks, and small surface patterns to give the bronze more life. Ultimately, it’s completely up to you what you decide to create!

What is Sculpt & Send?
Sculpt & Send is a creative experience where you sculpt in wax at home, send it back to us, and we cast your creation in solid bronze using the traditional lost wax method. It’s hands-on, easy to do, and the result is a unique piece of art that lasts a lifetime.
Do I need any sculpting experience?
Not at all! Our kit is designed for everyone—from total beginners to seasoned creatives. We include easy-to-follow instructions and tips to help you get started.
What comes in the kit?
Your kit includes a block of sculpting wax, a few simple sculpting tools, a return prepaid postage label, and a guide to help you along the way. We’ve made it as fun and stress-free as possible!
How big can I make my sculpture?
Our standard wax block is sized to create a small handheld sculpture – perfect for a keepsake, gift, or piece of desk art. If you're interested check out the ‘The Big Bronze Kit’!
How long do I have to return the wax sculpture?
You can take your time – each kit comes with a 3-month window to complete and return your piece. If you need longer, just drop us a message.
How long does it take to receive the finished bronze sculpture?
Once we receive your wax sculpture, we’ll begin the bronze casting process. This usually takes about 3-6 weeks, and then your finished piece will be on its way to you. Our aim is to have it back to you within 3 weeks though!
Can I do this with kids?
Absolutely! It’s a great creative activity for families. Just note that some adult supervision may be needed when handling the tools.
Is it really solid bronze?
Yes! We use high-quality foundry bronze and cast your sculpture using the same traditional process used for fine art pieces and public monuments.
Can I send one as a gift?
Definitely. Sculpt & Send makes an amazing gift—unique, creative, and super memorable. You can add a gift message at checkout, and we’ll take care of the rest.
What if I make a mistake?
That’s all part of the fun! The wax is forgiving – you can rework it as much as you like before sending it back.
